Great place! Sat out on the patio and ate with our dogs. We each had a spectacular burger. An Annapolis no fail choice.

Feds, is always great! Over 15 years and counting...I love that spot. The staff is great! Best bar lounge in Annapolis pound! for pound. Very versatile clientele and with ages groups and ethnicity's too. Dope! (Thor )

They hold nothing back! I had a shrimp and grits that was heavenly. I find that the crab dip that so many restaurants try to pass off as quality, tends to be so greasy because of the cheese. Federal House makes sure that this isn't the case. They clean it up and elevate it. The crab quiche is packed with lump meat. Staff was wonderful and engaging. There were a couple of kids at our table and or waitress made sure to speak to them and treat them just as important as the adults. She always had a smile and was attentive too. Since it was New Year's Eve, there was even entertainment. A magician came to each table to make sure the meal ended with a touch of fun. I can see why this place was packed.

Nice place, food was decent bar food fare. Bit expensive but depends on what you want. Many crab & fish options though ample beef choices too. The vegetarian sandwich was good and flavorful. Nice place to being friends for some food and drinks, next to the harbor.

We came for lunch with our two German Shepherd Dogs on a very hot summer day. The waiter was efficient, made sure we were comfortable at the sidewalk seating, brought water bowls, and smiled even though it was hot out. The food was delicious. We will definitely visit there again.

I got to eat dinner with my dog and people watch in Annapolis, what could be better?! Food was amazing, everything from the ahi lettuce wraps to the fish tacos; not one bite went unfinished! The selection of beer is vast, you could spend the good portion of the afternoon trying all the ones you have in mind. They even have a mini menu to order your pup a snack!

Great place for lunch even though it may not look like it. The oysters and mussels were right on and the softshell crab sandwich was perfect. They even have a vegan burger that looks and taste like the real thing.

What can I say about the federal house. For years my family and I have been coming here for the food now I bring my friends for the drinks wings and Great Gatherings

As a local, another go-to spot for both date nights and family-friendly meals. We've also rented out the banquet room upstairs for a Baptism reception (this was catered by Main & Market, not Federal House). Good selection of draft beers. I like the beer flights and towers. Menu is good, and I love the onion soup. Also good bar food to eat with/after drinks. Music and dancing on weekend late nights. Large TV (and other smaller TVs) for watching sports. Happy hour only in the bar area. I've always had attentive bartenders. Most staff friendly but not all of them, and quick turnover of server staff. Outdoor seating is tight and limited on the sidewalk, but still nice when weather is nice.

Great food, location, service and ambiance. The restaurant is right on the water, in a historical building and aims to preserves the atmosphere. Food was excellent, crab stuffed flounder and shrimp with cheese grits. The restaurant has a neat selection of mule and crush drinks as well as 24 beer kinds. Our waitress Michelle was very patient and attentive. Not a bargain place but worth the money.

Nice environment, has a bar but also seating nearer the windows if you want, the staff were all kind, and the food was very very good! The beer selection was pretty in depth and most were from within the state (I think we noticed only one from Virginia) and the options for your meal included burgers, seafood, soups, sandwiches, and more! If I lived closer I would love to go there semi-regularly

While I have mostly had good experiences here, the softshell crab sandwich was almost chewy, not light, airy, and crispy as it should be. Others loved the burgers and salads they had. Good beer selection.

The food is absolutely delicious. The fish and chips are the best I ever had.

Delicious! Great pub food. My senior dad and I went for lunch on a Monday. Dad got his favorite fried oysters and loved it. Fish and chips were also really good- light and crisp. I do wish they had a better handicap entrance. Besides myself with my dad walker, I saw a mom having a hard time with her two toddlers.

Cold, windy, rainy afternoon at Annapolis Harbor ... and then we walked into Federal House. Warm welcome, attentive staff, incredible brew selections, great food ... changed everything for the better.

Live music, cold drinks and excellent food what else can you ask for? Friendly service? Check A beautiful building that makes you feel at home? Check. Will be visiting again next time I'm in town. GO NAVY BEAT ARMY!

One of the neatest places in town. Definitely worth a visit. Staff are great, food (crab cakes) is excellent, and beverages are cold.

Great food great atmosphere. I loved it. I really liked the pork ribs. They were some of the best I ever had. The bartenders here could make any kind of drink you would want. The bathrooms were very clean. They also have a very nice private room upstairs. The prices are compatible with the surrounding bars. All in all a great place. I would highly reccomend it.

Service was on par, pricing is reasonable, we went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and were seated in a matter of minutes. Good local craft beer selection. Food was well prepared, portion sizes are acceptable.

Rotating drafts from Burley oak and a few other Maryland local breweries are a significant draw for beer lovers in downtown Annapolis. Food is average bar food and nothing to write home about but a good option for lunch or to watch a game. Personally I prefer happy hour for their beer choices, knowledgeable bartenders and maybe snacking on an appetizer before dinner.

We have frequented the restaurant and checked it out for a Rehearsal dinner. It is nice and our event went well. They have repainted the upstairs in an light ice blue with white. It feels formal without being strongly colonial. The bar in the room is convenient. The room side bars for the buffet saved a lot of floor space and you could have a pretty good sized group in there.The food is catered by Main & Market. They are predictably good. I thought we had run out of food, but they brought more. Unfortunately, I didn't know so I can't verify all the food flavors. The crab cakes and artichoke dip are wonderful. I would go here or set up a party here again!

Cute restaurant in Annapolis--near the water. Came here because we spotted the restaurant by chance. They had a band playing--and the atmosphere was very nice. The food was also pretty good. We ordered a cobb salad, calamari, a side of fries, and a burger. The food was pretty tasty. Would definitely go there again.

Good location. Great service. This is right in the heart of downtown Annapolis. As a healthy eater, I recommend the salmon salad. Lots of salad options and variations. Don't get the coffee, get tea. Go nextdoor for coffee. ☕

If your visiting Annapolis the Federal House is an absolutely must as the service and food are both truly amazing. The chef and his crew in the kitchen are very accommodating but seriously the dishes are all perfect the way they are. The crabcakes are true Maryland and the softshell crabs- stellar!

Some food was good.1. fries were very good, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, perfectly flavoured.2. Hubby ordered bison burger, that was very tasty and perfectly cooked.3. I ordered grilled salmon BLT which was very overcooked and did not have the skin on (though they told me it would be skin-on).4. Also tried cream of crab, not bad but nothing to write home about.Table and chair were sticky (I had a short dress on, my legs remained sticky for the rest of the evening), very loud, and bathroom was dirty and had broken glass on the floor.Service was slow, but friendly enough. After finding out I didn't get skin for my salmon, they took the whole entree off the bill. So no complains there.

Love the atmosphere and service. I love shrimp and grits and have never had one like this before. They added a bbq sauce flavor to it which really added to it.The size was surprisingly big and love the service we got.

Best cream of crab soup on earth, excellent seafood, great environment, attentive service, and wonderful location. We've eaten at over 20+ restaurants in Annapolis: Federal House is our favorite. Try it and you'll see why.
